The following is the framework of a 2 hour session.
Introduce a structured Warm up
- 3-5 stretches
⁃ touch toes
⁃ Flamingo
⁃ Windmill
⁃ Lean into thigh
⁃ Arm across chest
- Skip side to side post to post, passing ball head high – to help see the ball and warm the hands
- Drop kick shots 8-10yrds while facing the ball – get hands warm
- Reverse-reflex – sharpen the reflexes – here
Recovery drills – improve speed of recovery from ground
– kneel and save – here
– fall back and recover and save – here
Distribution drill – improve speed and decision making
⁃ Top/bottom left/right – front and back facing, hit target – here
Throwing techniques – here
⁃ capture ball, take to the 18 and throw into net
⁃ Same, With direction given at pen spot, right/left/Centre
⁃ Then at a cone placed 35 yards
⁃ Same with direction given at 12yds
